Philip Haves leads the Commercial Building Systems Group in the Building Technologies Department of the Environmental Energy Technologies Division at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. He received a BA in physics from Oxford University and a PhD in radio astronomy from Manchester University. He turned to research in building physics 29 years ago. His current work includes the development of computer simulation tools to support the design of low energy cooling systems and the development of automated fault detection and diagnosis tools for use in building commissioning and performance monitoring. He is a Fellow of ASHRAE and the immediate past President of the US chapter of the International Building Performance Simulation Association. |
